This paper focuses on the Gazi Husrev-beg Khanqah, an institution established to accommodate a shaykh and Sufis so that they could devote themselves entirely to worship and to the teaching and dissemination of Sufism (taṣawwuf). In the introductory section, the author reviews the existing literature on this khanqah published in the Bosnian language and then defines the objective of the study, which is to provide a more comprehensive examination and presentation of the available information concerning the Gazi Husrev-beg Khanqah, the daily life of its residents, and its transformation into a classical-type madrasah. Following the introduction, the paper offers a brief overview of the life of Gazi Husrev-beg, after which it discusses the establishment of the khanqah and its intended purpose. Considerable attention is devoted to the relationship between the khanqah and the madrasah, as well as to the role of the khanqah in promoting and disseminating Sufism. In the concluding section, the author proposes the reintroduction of lectures on Sufism in the khanqah, thereby restoring an important part of its original function.
