This article presents a lecture by the main imam of the Islamic Community of Bosniaks in Germany, Aldin-ef. Kusura, delivered at a conciliatory session for muftis and main imams organised by the Directorate for Religious Affairs of the Riasat of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The session addressed the organisation and realisation of the Maktab class in diaspora on the Jamaat and the roof organisation levels. The article is based on the experience of imams and muallims and on organising and observing the maktab class on the level of the roof organisation, taking the Islamic Community of Bosniaks in Germany as a model. To better understand the circumstances and the environment in which the jamaats in diaspora operate, we have here provided a brief history of the Jamaat and the roof organisation as an introduction. Further, we presented an insight into difficulties and challenges facing the jamaat and the roof organisation of the Islamic Community of Bosniaks in Germany. The end of the article offers some suggestions for improving the organisation and realisation of the Maktab class in diaspora.
