USE OF AN OVERHEAD PROJECTOR AND TRANSPARENCIES IN RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Abstract

The article points to technical characteristics of an overhead projector as a visual aid and its advantages in relation to other aids used in the educational process. Also presented are types of transparencies, their preparation and modes of use. Examples of the three most used types of transparencies are also given: text, picture-text and multi-layer transparencies. The text transparencies are simplest and used to present basic textual information, as in a provided example on God’s Prophets. The picture-text transparencies are combination of pictures and text. An example given is “Conditions for a Prayer” transparency. The multi-layer transparencies are two or more transparencies forming one, as illustrated with “The main parts of a prayer”. With proper preparation and use of these aids, teaching religion will be greatly improved and our goals achieved.
