Abstract

In this text the author identifies the basic characteristics of the position of Islam in the electronic media in Bosnia and Herzegovina, by looking at specialized religious programming. By doing so, the author arrives at a conclusion that the approach to the essential Islamic messages is becoming increasingly formal as much as formalism, in the way Islam is presented, is becoming mainstream. When explaining the Islamic topics in the media, the author introduces the old-new term infotainment, hybrid media, which makes a spectacle of news. Islam, as well as other faiths, is becoming a media spectacle, which doesn't necessarily convey a bad message.
