This paper examines the role of mekteb competitions in improving the quality of mekteb instruction. It analyzes their impact on student motivation, parental involvement, and the professional development of muallims. The data were collected through surveys of students, parents, and muallims, using a combination of closed and open-ended questions.

The results show that competitions have a positive effect on students’ motivation and engagement in learning, strengthen cooperation between parents and muallims, and encourage innovation and the exchange of experiences among teachers. Although participants pointed out certain organizational challenges and the need to adjust the scope of the material, the findings generally confirm that competitions contribute to improving the quality of teaching and strengthening a sense of community within mekteb instruction.
