This paper presents the key aspects of the life and service of Nezir-ef. Hadžiomerović (1882–1941), a significant yet insufficiently researched figure in the history of religious and educational officials in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the first half of the 20th century.

The study details Hadžiomerović’s educational journey, covering the period from his initial schooling in Visoko to the attainment of advanced theological education at Darul-funun in Constantinople. His professional career, encompassing a wide range of duties, is also analyzed. He served as an imam, khatib, muallim, religious teacher, jamaat imam, and sejjar-vaiz (itinerant preacher) in several Bosnian towns, including Visoko, Žepče, and Konjic. His overall work contributed significantly to the development of religious and educational life in the local communities where he served. In addition to insights into his professional career, the paper provides information about Nezir-ef. Hadžiomerović’s family life and presents relevant data on his death and burial place, thereby completing the portrait of the life and legacy of this important Islamic religious official.
