Ejma' is, next to the Qur'an and Sunnet, one of main sources of the Islamic law. Ejma' is a consensus of Islamic intellectuals of certain era (post the Muhammad's p.b.u.h. time) regarding a problem which is not dealt with in the primary sources. The paper is discussing the definition of Ejma', its types, the way of accomplishing it, its importance and the possibility of its implementation today. Ejma' has always been a synthesizing factor of individual efforts with the goal of reaching a solution for certain problem. As a source of the Islamic law, it enables Muslims to solve new problems and go in hand with time.
