The article discusses educational process as organized by theeducational institutions of the Islamic community of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The main ideas of this paper are the result of the epistemological demands of the educational system. We alreadypointed out that the curriculum is the reflection of currentneeds and is not constant. The article clarifies two approachesfor dealing with the curriculum - didactical (European) andcurriculum (American). The issue of curriculum has been discussed through two parts of Tyler's theory, serving as a model for discussing planning, structuring, implementing and developing the curriculum. Thefirst part Ð what's to be accomplished through education -points to the need to change the current curriculum as well asto the urgency to change the present approach to education. Theautonomy of educational institutions and their transformation into modern educational institutions has been suggested. The second part - how to achieve the goal - aims at the choiceof lecture form as a key problem. Finally, a call to offersolutions has been issued to all those in charge as well as to students and graduates.
