A teacher (muallim) is the cornerstone of the educational process. He can renew it and improve it with his knowledge and capabilities, or on the other hand, he can destroy it and degrade it due to his inability to face up to the new needs and challenges. The best candidates in the community must be educated and encouraged to become teachers. The first to point out to the role, significance and importance of teachers in the society were the Qur'an and the Prophet's Practice. The great Islamic scholars reinforced the same in many of their works. While adhering to all that living in Islam entails, a teacher mustlive in hand with his time and be ready to face up to itschallenges. For all of his efforts and resulting success, heshall, God willing, receive a reward equal to that of thosestruggling on the way of Allah.
