Abstract

We can observe various types of behavvioral disorders in children. Those typical ones, discussed in this article, are: aggressiveness, lack of discipline, cutting classes, lying, stealing and robbing. Some other types are also evident: neuroses, frustrations, sexual developmental disorders, etc. Each disorder has its own cause. The most common cause is inadequate family upbringing, but causes may also be found in schools, peer pressure and in other factors. A basis for development of healthy perssonality and prevention of behavioral disorders in children is proper upbringing, one based on warmth, love, trust, development of positive personality traits in children as well as on open relationship between parents and children, built on mutual trust and respect. School environmment should enable students to play an active role and stimulate their creativity. Teaching process should be interesting and teaching staff should stimulate healthy communication with students, while respecting their personality and their needs. Through cooperation and joint efforts of parents and the teaching staff it is possible to modify student behavior, solve related problems and prevent behavioral disorders in students.
