Ayatu-l-kursi, the most magnificent ayah in the Qur’an, encompasses all the fundamental beliefs of Islam: the Oneness of God, His absolute power, His omnipresence and omniscience, and His rule over all the creation, all the created worlds. Multilevel theological symbolism and precisely described attributes of God, this ayah offers a believer a sense of security and protection in this world packed with challenges. The Hadith tradition emphasises the significance of this ayah, especially in the context of everyday practice. Ayatu-l-kursi is not only the text for reciting, but rather a very comprehensive message for mankind relating to man’s position in Relation to the Almighty God, about forgetfulness, limitations, and man’s constant need for God’s mercy and guidance. This article aims to point out the multi-levelled meanings of Ayatu-l-kursi and its significance in the life of a believer.
