Abstract

UDK 656.2:070"1908/1914"

Construction of railway played exceptional role in the history of Europe and in the history of the entire World. However, the construction of the Hejaz railway; the most significant economic and investment project in Ottoman state at the time of its downfall, was nearly a mythical symbol of the states’ sustainability, or at least thus it was presented both at home and in the World. This article presents some reflections published in Arabica press in the period 1908-1914.
