Abstract

The article presents the historical circumstances in which the Waqf Directorate was established and functioned. Waqf Directorate as an institution of great significance for the Islamic community of BiH and Bosniaks, was established as the legal successor of the Waqf Directorate of the Islamic community that was closed down in 1958. the text elaborates principles of work and the administrative structure of the Waqf Directorate. Further in the text we presented range of activities of the Waqf Directorate that are in preparation and are aimed at bringing about more effective engagement in the field of promotion, protection and affirmation of the institution of waqf.
