DIALOGUE EPISTEMOLOGICAL, THEOLOGICAL, ETHICAL AND HERMENEUTIC SIGNIFICANCE OF INTERRELIGIOUS DIALOGUE IN THE WORLD OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

This article deals with dialogical bases of opinion as such, dialogical dimension of divine foundation of religious ethic responsibility, dialogical aspect of the Revelation, dialogical structure of sacred texts of religious revelation, understanding the text of the Revelation in a dialogical and hermeneutic modus as well as scientific, technological and historical constellation of Muslim-Christian dialogue in globalising world of today. The article primarily, on the bases of a comparative analysis of theological, historical, hermeneutic and philosophical cognitive experience, discusses the significance of dialogue in religious perspective of thinking. Then, in its second part, through the analysis of some places in the Qur’anic Revelation, it points out its dialogical structure. In its third part the article deals with the ethical aspect of the inner relation of dialogue and responsibility. The fourth part of this article offers an analysis of the most relevant challenges that are facing interreligious dialogue in today’s scientifically and technologically determined globalising world. In its final part the article deals with Muslim-Christian dialogue within the constellation of most significant historical asymmetric backgrounds. Through analysis of the most significant scientific and technological challenges that are currently facing the relation of religion towards the world and life, challenging religions and interreligious dialogue likewise, and pointing out differing historical experiences and perspectives of Christianity and Islam, the article concludes that Christians and Muslims in contemporary world, precisely from their differing historical experiences and perspectives but faced by the common challenges in this world of globalisation, should recognise the main field within which they will, through dialogue, learn from each other.
