Abstract

UDK 28-23

In this article we present the manuscript of the Qur’an that has been preserved in Mehmed-beg Stočanin mosque in Gornji Vakuf. It is a manuscript sample of the Qur’an with leather cover with overlapping extension, grey-ish blue colour, of 27 x 19 size, 6 c thick. The text is complete, written in black and red ink on thick paper light brown colour of 261 folio and not enumerated. It is written in very beautiful nashi calligraphy. The text is written with wovels of which three lines, the first, the middle and the last on each page are written in enlarged font and others in small calligraphic letters in black colour. Last notes on the manuscript show that it is about 487 (according to Hijra) years old, or 473 years according to the Gregorian calendar. It was written by an anonymous calligrapher. It was a gift bestowed, for the needs of Muslims, by Nazif ef. Bajraktarević from Gornji Vakuf.
