The author provides certain facts that point out to the need to further work on the children’s trauma. As there are those who think there is no longer any need for that, it was necessary to provide these facts. The experience in working with these children shows that these are normal children who went through traumatic experiences and are still living in a stressful environment. The author talks about Dubrave, a place near Tuzla where thousands of refugees from Srebrenica came in 1995. He relates their distressing experiences – the experiences of men, women and children. Sorrow, fear, loss of concentration, protection against pain… Children are looking for a way of selfprotection. Through looking for a way to protect themselves, they are sending a message that they need our help. Are we going to let them live with their pain? And it is so little they need.
