Abstract

UDK: 28-23

In this article the author presents a tafsir of the surah at-Takwīr, 81st surah of the Qur’an comprising of 29 ayahs. The name of the surah is derived from its first ayah: from the word kuwwirat meaning something that is wrapped up or rolled up, thus takwīr means wrapping up or rolling up. The style and the subject matter of the surah suggest that it is of the earliest surahs revealed in Meka. This surah has two main topics: the Last/the Judgment Day and the Revelation and the prophethood. Both these topics are among the fundamental issues of the faith.
