The article deals with the topic of the continuity of study of the Arabic language in the educational and upbringing system of the Islamic Community and the continuity of the efforts of the Islamic Community in providing adequate textbooks for the teaching process in varying circumstances throughout its history. From the earliest times when traditional books for learning the Arabic language from various parts of the Islamic world were used and then the first textbooks of the Arabic grammar and language signed by the local authors until today, when the students and teachers in madrasas throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina are staring the new 2022/2023 academic year with the new Teaching Plan and Programme for the Arabic language. This Teaching Plan and Programme is the result of the endeavor of the team of professors of the educational institutions of the Islamic Community in the past two years. It is made in accordance with the European reference framework for the studies of foreign languages and on the basis of the results of studies focusing on the development of the basic language skills needed for teaching and studying a language. Furthermore, the new Teaching Plan and Programme is compatible with the latest and most modern series of textbooks for the Arabic language in the world, At-Takallum, which uses the latest teaching methods and complies with the high standards for textbooks for foreign languages. The books of this series are now, after thirty years, introduced in studies of the Arabic language in madrasas in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
